Agriculture’s been an important part of the Greeley/Weld County economy since the days of the Union Colony. To learn how ag has changed (and is changing), join us for “The Evolution of Agriculture in Weld County”. This day-long tour takes place on Friday, August 25 from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. We’ll start and end at Houston Gardens, which is owned and operated by presenting sponsor West Greeley Conservation District. In between, we’ll visit sites related to the evolution of crops, water use and dairy — all within, or close to, Greeley.
The Union Colonists knew what they were doing when they decided to settle here. They just didn’t know how productive this area would be. Registration is now open for the tour. Seating is limited; sign up today.
